Clothing, shoes or boots make little difference to swimming, until you try to swim quickly, when the drag just makes you tired sooner. If you stay calm and make steady progress its fine. Clothes do keep you warm in the water and afterwards, but you need more layers.

I'm wriiting a story about some girls falling into deep water wearing rubber boots.

Firstly, where on the internet could I put my story?

Secondly, what do you think would happen if the girls swam wearing these kind of rubber boots? Would the girls drown, or would swimming be easy? Would their boots likely stay on or fall off?
