....in the two posts I have done on this subject. Because they do show people. They slightly blur the faces, but the bodies - and potentially the wet clothes - are perfectly clear. And you can 'walk' on along the beaches (or past the other Manezh Square fountains) and see lots of other people, scarcely blurred at all.
And they don't cover just famous monuments - unless Chennai (formerly Madras) beach has gained famous monument status suddenly. In fact, you can see me on streetview - and I'm not quite a famous monument yet haha.
But you're right, there's not a lot of wetlook (apart from Indian women in salwar kameez or saris I've not found any yet) so this new phone app you describe sounds interesting. However, I have tried looking at wetlook pictures on my smartphone and its not worth the effort, given how little detail I can make out - is it available for a PC? |
In reply to Message (66178.1.1.1.1.2) ...but they will not film people...only buildings and monuments.
By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Fri 01/01/16 17:15:33 GMT Yes....I have see those backpack camera people....but they only do those backpack video tours for famous monuments like The Great Wall of China or Machu Pichu in Peru or Mt Fuji in Japan or famous buildings like the Alcatraz prison.....i.e. they only film buildings and monuments and they purposely avoid shooting people....they will blur any accidental images of people, due to privacy concerns....so you will not see people on Google Streetview....they blur them out.
You are much more likely to see wetlook using the new smartphone app called Periscope....where anybody in the world can broadcast live video from their own smartphones for free.....cos somebody using a smartphone and periscope can be broadcasting live from a pool party or on the beach.....so all you have to do install periscope on your tablet or smartphone and then you can do a map search for your local or overseas locations and see balloons on the map for where live broadcasts are happening in prime locations that are likely to have wetlook events....e.g. I can guarantee you that next April you will be able to find dozens of live periscope broadcasts from Thailand during the next Songkran water festival....so you can watch people live as they participate in the wetlook street events.

In reply to Message (66178.1.1.1.1) You CAN 'walk' along beaches on Google streetview
By jollywetfellow - Fri 01/01/16 10:23:25 GMT You're out of date, I'm afraid, MK - wetlooker2 is right. As well as on cars, Google now has cameras on backpacks, and they have walked along many beaches and piers (including Santa Monica). They also have what they call photospheres, which are all-round views taken from a single point, and there are usually several of these taken from standing on the beach. Finally, if you go into satellite view, straightforward photos come up of places in the area of ground you are looking at, including 'tourist' pics of beaches. Like wetlooker2 I have found no wetlook yet - the nearest thing I've found in Santa Monica is on the attached link! - but I bet there's some out there somewhere! Time for a New Year competition?
Happy New year, everybody! |
In reply to Message (66178.1.1.1) Re:No wetlook girls
By MK - wamtec@comcast.net Fri 01/01/16 01:17:34 GMT I would forget about Bondi Beach in Australia. I spent 9 months living in Sydney and used to go to Bondi Beach on most weekends, but I can only recall seeing one memorable wetlook scene in all the times I went there....cos that is a world famous TOPLESS beach where you rarely see people wearing clothing...just topless and bikini girls....same goes for St Tropez in France....never saw any wetlook when I went there either.
I doubt that Streetview can be of any use to wetlook fans...because those cars are for driving on streets....not on beaches....they would get stuck in the sand if they tried to drive on beaches. |

By Wetlooker2 - Thu 31/12/15 22:52:04 GMT Walking around on the beaches on street view but not find any wetlook girls there, sorry but its a good idea to follow this new thing they have make now.
Try Bondi, Thailand and Mallorca but no street view around the beach. |

In reply to Message (66178) Gstreet view and wetlook
By Wetlooker2 - Thu 31/12/15 20:08:13 GMT After playing some GTA V i need to explore Santa Monica on S W and find out i can walk around there. And when you walk around on the beach i think you will find some wetlook girls to. :)
Any other beaches to explore there?
