I also find it very interesting that posing for pictures, especially wetlook pictures, can make you feel more attractive.  I have taken lots of pictures of myself, alone sometimes and with my girlfriend sometimes, and I have seen how it can really boost your self-confidence.  I have some pictures of myself soaking wet that I think look really good, and I usually hate the way I look in photos.  My girlfriend doesn't always like the way she looks either, but she likes some of the wet pictures I've taken of her too.  I've seen the same thing with models on wetlook sites too.  Sometimes the first time a person models, they seem a little tentative and shy and awkward even, but the longer they do it, the more obviously they enjoy it.  

Also, I've found that the pictures often help me remember the experiences better.  Like you said, sometimes the details get fuzzy in my mind (maybe because I get wet so often) but the pictures help me remember what I was wearing, what the place looked like, etc.  So looking at the pictures helps me relive the experience.  Do you experience that with your pictures at the pier?
