The best part about stockings (aside from the fact that they make legs look even hotter), is the occasional seemingly unintentional glimpse of the tops and the bare skin above the tops :).  That is hot!  That keeps my attention.

The one criticism I would have of Ed (and believe me, I don't have many) is that when he incorporates stockings into a shoot, there seem to be shots deliberately showing off the fact that stockings are involved.  Personally (maybe just me), I feel that a glimpse of bare skin above the stocking tops should look like an unintentional lucky glimpse, to be savoured, not an intentional display.  That makes it clinical, not naughty :).

So much of traditional glamour is about creating the fantasy of catching a glimpse of something a little hotter than what was intended.  A great surprise.  Like the iconic Marilyn Monroe shot of her dress being blown up.  Most of us guys know what female anatomy is, we've been there.  Half the population of the world has those parts.  It's about keeping us in suspense, giving us hints, and keeping us in suspense for a while :).
