I still have around 20 working VHS vcrs (15 or so are American format NTSC machines, and 5 of them are multi-system PAL/NTSC vcrs than can play European VHS tapes). I got rid of most of the VHS tapes I once had on my shelves (over 6000 of thjem at one time) when I converted the best bits from my old tapes into DVDs and online files. I threw dozens of VCRs in the trash over the last 30 years, whenever broke down ,but I kept some of the working ones cos sometimes I still get fans who ask me to convert their old VHS tapes into DVDs so I keep a few so I can capture tapes to my PC for editing and to make DVDs from. I still have many old camcorders that still work that were made before the HD era, so I have VHSc camcorders, 8mm camcorders, Hi8 camcorders, Digiital8 camcorders in PAL and NTSC formats, and miniDV PAL and miniDV ntsc camcorders. They gather dust on my shelves cos currently I have 6 HD cameras that I use for my modelling shoots. It is worth keeping the old camcorders, cos once in a while I get a customer who has old 8mm or Hi-8 tapes and wants them converted from analog to digital DVD formats.

Also, I must be the only person in the world who still has 2 dozen old cathode ray tube "fat screen" tv's, cos while I have 4 of the newer flat screen tvs, I have over 20 old tv sets still on shelves in my garage from the era before flat screen tv's arrived.

I guess I am a hoarder cos I still have 10 old PCs with windows 95 and windows XP on them that gather dust, cos I only use one Windows 7 machine these days. I really need to get a faster PC but I am loathe to get one that has windows 8 installed cos I after I see what Windows 8 is like on my wife's notebook I prefer to stick with windows 7, and I here the upcoming release this summer of Windows 10 will be an even bigger monstrosity....but the goods news, Microsoft have finally decided to stop forcing their lousy browser Internet Explorer on us and have aannouced last week that Windows 10 release will not come with Internet Explorer any more...so they have finally conceded that Firefox is the best browser and most people do not like the bloated experience of IE.

Europe got rid of VHS faster then the US. Since VHS is in decline there are way more working VCRs in the US then in Europe. I don't really no why. Some may say Europe is more modern, others may say it's more gullible and fell prey to marketing, but the numbers are a fact.

You guys no longer have a working VCR? You really move on with new technologies and leave the past behind. I still have 3 VCRs and a huge pile of tapes with tv shows recorded in the 80s and 90s and early 00s. I still have a Commodore 64 and a Colecovision as well.

I have to disappoint you... our equipment to play back VHS doesn't work any more, and we doubt whether the VHS tape containing this footage is still working, it might just fall apart as soon as we touch it.

At that time, we didn't record anything on mini-DV videotape or DVD yet.

Dutch gameshow Over the Roo(o)ie

Sorry for just posting what might seem as i request here - but I thought somebody might be able to help me. Does anyone know where to find clips of old Dutch TV gameshow "Over the roo(o)ie", where they paid people on the street to get others to participate in dares that often turned out be be wet or messy? I have been searching for years and have not managed to come up with much - and there is something about this show (the things they do seemed quite outlandish at the time, they are all wearing 90ies-clothes, there are people of all ages participating, how real everything seems ...) that i find particularly intriguing.

There are a few clips I already know. Some of them are on youtube. Some of these cater to our interest...

I know MK has also kindly posted a few of them over the years, some for free for christmas one year (thanks!!!) and a few of them are on the megastore. These, of course, i immediately bought.

All in all, there is

- one of several women taking a fully clothed shower in the street,

- one of a few women rolling around in batty,

- one of a girl taking a champagne shower, and

- one more a people getting red paint on them.

So my question is: Does anyone know where to get more of these scenes (of the wet or messy variety)?

My intelligence seems to have failed so far - so maybe the collective intelligence of this forum can help me...
