I'm seeing many of the semi-formal to formal crowd here. And hey, to each his or her own. More power to you. But I'll just say for me, dressy does nothing. Suits, business clothes, skirts, even "business casual" turns me off.
I love casual clothes. For the most part, the more casual, the better. T-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, trackpants and jackets, casual shoes. I think it's because when I first noticed I liked wetlook, I was a kid who wore a t-shirt into the pool. Not just to keep the sun off, but I just really liked the way it felt. As I grew up, I just kept wanting that feeling; comfortable, clinging, and the casual "unassuming" look. It's based on comfort and just being yourself. I also just like the look of casual clothes, especially from school, sports, camp, etc. It's simple, colorful, and draws attention to the body while being effortless. And usually anyone wearing them has had those clothes for years, wearing them down very soft and thin, which looks great wet. Even old sweats seem to cling in a particular way. Finally, casual clothes seem more real and genuine; people often go into the water with them without a big fuss, which I find more attractive than some big spectacle.
Anyways, that's just me :) |
