No, DivX is ok for downloading because it save brandwidth but MPEG is definitly the good format for media like CD : it's the only one that can be play on EVERY plateforme. Most of DivX codex only works on Wintel bulshit and is unplayable for people that don't want pay M$ royalties like myself !

By Jim - jim121272@aol.com Sun 05/10/03 12:21:13 GMT Website: www.wetlookunlimited.com I've had several customers ask if they could mix and match scenes from various videos, and combine them into one custom video.
Due to constraints on time and computing power, it's not feasible to do this with VHS or DVD. However, if there is a demand for it, I'm willing to go through the work to make custom combinations of my 100+ scenes available on a standard CD.
The choices of format would be: 1. MPEG-1 (common format, but low video quality) 2. MPEG-2 (DVD-compatible format, high quality & lower file size, can be played on newer versions of Windows Media) 3. DivX (high quality & very low file size, but requires separate download of a DivX player)
Let me know your thoughts on this, and based on the feedback, I'll decide if this is worth doing.
