Don't know if you've done the move yet, but checking the DNS just now (early hours of Sunday morning), the TTLs on the A record for the forum are set to 24 hours.
Drop those to something like 5 minutes, at least 48 hours before the actual move, and the disruption can be greatly reduced, as most people's ISPs will then get the update in a maximum of 10 minutes, though granted there are broken resolvers out there that cache everything for 24 hours regardless of TTL settings.
If someone's ISP's resolvers cache the record just before the move, they'll (the resolvers) keep handing out the old IP till the TTL expires, and no amount of rebooting will accelerate the change. |

We are moving to a new data center and all servers will be shut down one at a time, moved to the new location a few miles away, and then restarted with a different set of IP addresses. Most of you will need to flush your DNS cache when that happens so your browser can find the new location. That's easily done just by rebooting your computer. It may take 1-2 days in some cases for the new DNS info to propagate to your ISP. Be patient. You'll eventually be able to reconnect.
Sites that will be affected include this forum, all of Leon's sites, Most of MK's sites, and all DVD and download stores based at Vidown.com and TheWamStore.com
