Let's analyze. The women aren't wearing shoes. Logically when stepping out onto a wooden dock, it would be wise to have footwear. Yet in a crude...or maybe shrewd attempt to divert suspicion, the men in fact are wearing shoes. These are at best, knock off chuck's, which will be no worse off after a bath. The men are also positioned on the submerged side of the dock and the immersion by the women was minor. So yes, as it does seem stage, you can't fake the wetlook.
