I was at the Lord Mayor of Londons procession on a very wet november day in 1988 of the 8 cabin crew walking besides the British Airways float only five had their raincoats on, The three who did not were absolutely soaked, Their normally light grey skirts were very dark grey indeed and their clip on cravats were limp rags, They could not have been wetter if they had jumped into a swimming pool

I remember the BA waterskiing stewardess on the front cover of a mag in the 80s, looked fun but lost the pic unfortunatley.

It will be interesting to see the match they are going to be playing which is being posted on their facebook page on the 24th, I presume they will be playing in full uniform as in the advert a couple of years ago,It would be fantastic if they played Emirates who also sponsor Rugby sevens. As for BA i dont think they sponsor anything sports related these days. I remember attending the badminton championships sponsored by BA in the 80's at the royal albert hall that featured a fun segment of uniformed badminton that the stewardess' took very seriously and of course the uniformed water ski-ing at kings water park also in the 80's. I think the asian airlines are a better bet for this kind of stuff these days.

I think Joyce is the best clip out of the lot, as it shows a very wet n messy uniform, shame BA dont sponsor anything like that :)

Get yourself over to cathay pacific's youtube page for the airlines adverts for this years HK sevens. Several clips of Cathay Pacific cabin crew diving into muddy water in full uniform. Oh happy days
