However as said before it's hard to please every wish with your work. Even more so, when it comes down to filming and taking pictures at the same time. This is a complex issue, technologically and logistically. First of all you need a decent cam to take the video. Ok, this can be solved by investing a few hundred bucks. Btw. I wouldn't advice to use your DSLR to shoot stills while filming. It produces a one second freeze frame in your video (at least with the EOS 5D Mark II and EOS 7D - tested this). As a photographer you will be tempted to press the shutter pretty often once the secene gets relly good in front of you, thus producing a constant freeze frame in your video. Keeping a good balance between filming and shooting stills might need lots of shootings for practicing with lots of films and stills in bad quality because of lack of experience. Also (and about this I am not sure) I think there is a problem with triggering the flash while taking photos live-view (=via the built in monitor). You won't get crisp and colorful shots indoor without a flash.

So my preferred setting is using a second cam on a tripod for filming while being totally flexible with your photo-cam in hand (or more rarely the other way round).

The extra camera man increases complexity even more. Imagine the situation: A young attractive woman having to get wet in front of two guys pointing a camera on her ... while this might be the normal setting for a porn-actress, the commonly requested girl-next-door wetlook-model will have a hard time feeling comfortable in that situation. Leaving aside that most of us have full time occupations (yes even most of my models have that) and the more people you have involved in a shooting the harder ist is to arrange a date. You have to be very flexible yourself to pull everything together. And if you are not (because you have a job and familiy) it's better to work on your own.

That being said, every feedback is alwways appreciated, but keep in mind, many if not most producers do this because they love it, not because they make their living on it.
