I'll agree with guitar guy. Lighting is one of the most important aspects of photography. Most modern cameras, even cheaper, less professional, and point and shoots can take professional looking images if there is good light. Don't worry about things like mixing different temperature lights, that will come later as you gain more experience. Taking a course in photography helps, but if you can't do this then, the best advise is to take pictures. A lot of pictures of anything. Get used to the camera and figure out what it takes to get a good image.
Becoming a photographer and running a successful site are two different things. The photography is hard enough, but you will also need a venue to sell the images. If you can build your own website, that will be a big advantage, otherwise you'll have to use do-it-yourself programs or hire someone to do it, or you can get an account on Clips4Sale or maybe on the UMD.
You'll need some money to start your site. Expect to purchase equipment, buy wardrobe, pay model fees, possibly rent locations and/or travel, etc. Don't expect to see a return on your investment initially. That will take time, if ever.
Good luck Sincerely EdR |
