Tks...we shot out little castaways/strande island videos on a small island called Egmont Key which is in the Gulf waters near to Treasure Island/St Petersberg in Florida. We were allowed access to certain private areas of the island, cos one of our customers is rich dude who is worth 50 million cos he a bird sanctuary for taking care of pelicans and turtles...and all these little old ladies die in florida and leave all their money to his bird sanctuary. It is astounding the stuff he has inherited from other people's will. Last time we visited him, he has 2 x 140ft fishing boats, 1 90 ft luxury yacht, 2 airplanes, 6 homes and numerous parcels of land...and some guy even left him a 50 foot mini-submarine as well...like those on the old Flipper shows. Anyway he loaned us the use of one of his 120 foot fishing boats for the films we made.. and let us film on his own private beach areas. Mind you...we still got into trouble on that shoot, cos a local tv news crew found out we were filming on the island, and the soon after the shoot, they did a hit piece on us and our friend who owns the bird sanctuary...and channel 9 news in Tampa nailed us with an expose where they characterized us as "porno people invading the bird sanctuary"...ha ha

I had an investigative tv reporter on my heels that year...cos channel 9 news from Tampa were pretending to be customers and wanting to order videos and see the raw footage we had shot...when our friend who owns the sanctuary warned us not to speak to this guy...cos he was doing an undercover investigation on us. The whole thing was baloney...cos it had nothing to do with the local community being upset cos we were filming on the beach. The real reason is that our friend owned half a mile of prime beach front land in Treasure island...occuping it with all his smelly birds and rescued turtles...and developers were after him cos they wanted to have that beachfront property he owned for making condos instead...and so they were hiring private investigators to dig up dirt on this guy..cos they were looking for excuses to try and get the bird sanctuary shut down, so they could get could get that land off him to turn it into more profitable condos.

Yeah...that was a fun shoot to do....rushing about from island to island, and beach to beach...shooting quick scenes...and then the coast guard boards the boat and wants to know what we are shooting, and then on the beach the park rangers show up, and then we get tv news reporters on our case...

Thats why we did all our shoots the next year in Jamaica...cos we got fed up being hassled all the time when shooting in Florida (even when we had permits)...whereas Jamaica was a pure delight to film in...cos everybody is so busy getting laid or getting stoned over there...nobody gives a rats ass what you do on the beach...ha ha.

Good point but you have to give them credit for re-wetting them.  As you have pointed out in the past it's common to see Hollywood have someone emerge from the water and have them appear almost totally dry in the next camera shot.

This episode reminded me a little of your "castaways" video where three girls in miniskirts wash up on shore, sort of wetlook meets survivor - the way it really should be.  It was great to see the girls make their way around the island while their skirts and pantyhose got progressively torn and ripped.  Well done!

...well...one thing was certainly pre-ordained...the wetlook was staged and falsified at one point. If you watched closely...you would have noticed one major wetlook continuity error in relation to the black girl in the white blouse and black miniskirt...cos she and the other girls land on the beach...and then have to walk a mile or so up a mountain to a village to do some shopping. This would have taken at least 20-25 minutes after they landed on the beach...yet 25 mins later and she is walking around the village in a sopping wet white blouse that is clinging to her back...and thats impossible...cos as any wetlook photographer knows...wet clothing only looks wet for about 3-4 minutes only after you leave the water. I used to live in Panama in the mid 80's and have been to those Pearl Islands several times..I know them well...a great spot for a vacation (hardly a hardship location for survivor...not much different to Hawaii). Anyway..it is always over 90 degrees and high humidity on those islands...so anybody coming out of the sea in wet clothing...their clothing is going to look dry in less than 7-8 minutes. Therefore, it would be impossible for the group to be walking a mile or so up a mountain and then walking around the village...with their clothing still looking wet, as the girl in the blouse was. This can only mean...that CBS film crew people were wetting the cast down with hoses before filming them in the village...in order to fake the timeline or continuity...cos they would have been dry by the time they reached that village.

The really freaky part about this new survivor cast is...the big guy in the beard is a dead ringer for Rob Blaine from Messy Fun.

I give'm credit that they pretty much stayed in their skirts and dresses.  One of the girls even jumped in wearing heels although we never saw them again.  I was very bummed out that Nicole in the blue strapless minidress was the first one voted off.  I had high hopes that she would last for a while and her dress would give her more and more problems.  This is the first survivor episode I ever watched (I never took the other seriously) but the previews of the fully clothed boat jump peaked my interest.  Being the cynic I am though, I have to believe they were purposely dressed like that.  What guy would be in a suit and tie?  A woman in a scout uniform?  If it were me I be in shorts and a tshirt as soon as I got off the plane in that heat and humidity.  I'd LOVE to know the real story behind the clothing choices.  Does anyone else think that it was preordained that the sexiest outfit was meant to be the first to go?

"Survivor" is known for its overuse of bathing suits BUT... in the promos for the first show of the new episode the contestants can be seen jumping from a ship fully clothed... possibly some good wetlook?
