I remember the scene very well. I can appreciate Patrick Swayze's strength; the men in the videos were having quite a hard time trying to replicate the scene. I know I couldn't do it! The closest I came was when I was at an event and a lovely young lady got wet head to toe (jeans and a sweatshirt). I find the idea of carrying a pretty woman very romantic, and doing so when a woman is soaking wet even more so! So while she was trying to give people wet hugs, most guys ran away. Not minding that I got a bit wet in the process, I gladly embraced, holding her up in the air, off her feet. I was rewarded with a nice smile, too.

Anyone remember he scene in Dirty Dancing where Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey are practicing lifts in the water? Well, they have a "lift contest" at Lake Lure, NC, where Dirty Dancing was filmed. Some bathing suits, but more clothing than not. Some guys, but more girls . . .
