MK - I use a Samsung phone, and agree with your two selected focus manufacturers.  If you broaden out the "Samsung" just a bit to be "Android", you'll be covering the HUGE majority of installed base of phones, and not much behind in tablets.  Within the Android world, off the top of my head, I'd say the biggest HW manufacturers are Samsung, HTC, Motorola and LG.  My guess is that if a streaming site using a browser works on the Samsung Android phones, it'll very likely be just fine on the other Android HW too.  The Android browser share is a lot more split than on Apple though.  Android has had its own included browser, which is being supplanted by Chrome in the latest releases - and quite a few people use Firefox too.  So my thoughts, FWIW, is that its probably more important to check your site against the built-in browser, Chrome and Firefox - than to try to cover a huge range of Android HW.  For instance - I have all three browsers installed on my Galaxy S3 - so although I use Firefox mostly - I could actually check all three for proper functioning on my single phone.

This is all a learning experience for us, cos most of my family and friends are using Samsung or Apple products. I had never heard of a Ubuntu phone until last week when a dunk tank fan was saying he had a Ubuntu phone and the streams were not visible to him on a mobile Firefox browser. One of the reasons we decided to enter the world of streaming video is because the Apple i/o operating system is not compatible with most download stores, and we constantly get feedback from customers who have iPads that report that the download store systems we use are incompatible with iPhones and iPads.....so we decided to offer streaming video alternatives to those folks who have mobile devices that are unable to download videos from our download store systems.

At this point we are gathering as much data and feedback on compatibility issues as we can and passing them along to our developer

Yeah, I'm with frogprince.  I'm thinking at the moment NO Ubuntu phones are out there - except as early beta in the hands of a few geek developers.  And I wouldn't really worry about missing much potential marketshare for quite a while if you're not compatible with Ubuntu phones.  Lookout

Ubuntu is listing phone availability in either the 4th quarter of 2013 or early 2014. My impression is that the OS for the phone remains in development as Ubuntu Touch Preview. You may want to check with the Ubuntu phone owner for more details about their phone.

Currently there are 14 hours of streams on this channel. More coming soon.

The free previews are here.

I wonder how many of you have Ubuntu smartphones. We know the channels work well on Samsung and Apple tablets and smartphones, but somebody with a Ubuntu phone recently reported he was

having browser problems to play the streams on his Ubunto, so we need to look into that.
