While I largely agree with you, I don't think it's entirely true there have been no new shoots, there is an internal forum on the MF site, and the old Yahoo group (which Rob started way back when it was still egroups) was still running with some of the current models posting to it earlier this year.
I would agree totally that the legacy wasn't carried on though, as all the new material I did see (from the paysite) was totally hopeless from a clothed WAM pov, clearly the people producing the material do not understand the genre at all. On top of that the person who originally edited the existing footage for the paysite made a total hash of it in places, things like missing out entirely the point where a girl went from clean to messed.
There was talk about releasing Rob's unedited footage (of which I gather there is considerably more than was ever put out on tape), don't know if it ever came to anything.
I never met Rob in the flesh, only on-line, but even so he came across as one of the nicest people I ever had the privilige of writing to, and a real gentleman to boot. He always made you feel welcome and was never too busy to talk to people. It's three years since he died, he is still missed. |

By MK - wamtec@compuserve.com Mon 08/09/03 13:28:44 GMT Thats true...Rob Blaine is/was a legend not to be forgotten. FYI, they did mention his website in the lifetime awards (i.e. messyfun) but they must have forgotten his name since messyfun was sold to another company 3 years ago and has been managed by a different webmaster (an upskirts and panties producer from outside the genre) who does not participate in the wam forums...nor has he done anything to carry on Rob's legacy, cos since Rob passed away 3 years ago the new owner has not done any new shoots at all...all he has done with messy fun is to redesign the website and carry his old stocks...but no new videos have been created...which is a shame, cos Rob was the main man who started it all in the USA...but his legacy has not been continued and the website is largely stagnant.
I worked with Rob on several video shoots...he would fly down to Florida often to help us out with camera work on some of our shoots, and he was a great guy to know.

By Kev - kev.styx@ntlworld.com Mon 08/09/03 07:23:39 GMT And I notice MK is in the hunt for the lifetime achievement award.
Apart from MK and Roger Carpenter, not sure how many of the others have been in the business a "lifetime". If some of the people on there have spent a lifetime in the WAM business, it must mean that most of the producers of WAM are under 10 years old : )
I guess that a lifetime in the WAM business must equate to somethink like the lifespan of a moth.....lol
