Even if Hollywood could do it right (and there had been some rare instances where they did get it right, i.e. the wet look scene in Hitchcock's Vertigo) there will always be someone out there who feels they can always do it better. I mean look at the number of new sites that pop up each year, with a new producer hoping to do one better or appeal to a niche within the niche. Heck, I entered this market, as small as it is, because I wanted to see high end or magazine quality wetlook images, which of course is a huge gamble when the market primarily prefers video. But I'm entirely motivated. Having studied photography, some of the best photographers had used fetish as art, i.e. Helmut Newton, who in my opinion was a phenomenal photographer and which obviously had a thing for bondage and pantyhose. These days I am pursuing a similar course by submitting images and showing some of my work in galleries (But more on that later)
I can totally relate to your inspiration, I too felt that the Wet n Wild series was missing something but at the time, I was in no position to do it better. Finding a good wet look scene in a girly magazine is rarer than finding a good wet look scene in a TV show, but we did talk about Fiesta magazine circa 1990s :) If I recall it correctly, you once said to me back then, for you to produce something with video, you had to daisy chain a couple of computers together to have enough hard drive space and processor power. These days it's much easier for anyone to start a site and be a producer.

True....but look at the bright side.....i.e. if tv shows and movies were delivering AAA quality wetlook scenes all the time, then there would be no need for wetlook producers like you to exist.......cos wetlook producers only exist because they understand wetlook better than the mainstream world does.
In my case...my inspiration for starting my own wetlook videos....was all thanks to Hugh Hefner and his "Playboy Wet and Wild" video series....cos when I saw that series.....my thought was..."gee....these wet scenes and clothing choices really suck....they just don't get it - I can do this better myself".
As the old saying goes.....if you want a job done properly....do it yourself.

Website: www.asplashofglamour.com I agree it's a law suit happy world where the only real winners are the lawyers, but frankly those ugly prison outfits really have no protective value whatsoever. In my opinion they could forgo the garbageman look for participants and either let them wear their own clothes or provide sexier outfits, than those damn rejects from the Disney costume dept, while also providing them helmets, knee pads, etc. to wear over nicer looking clothes. But the "puke resistant" gameshow clothes that participants have to wear probably have more to do with feminists and nut jobs who would get all in a tizzy over the mere hint of a nipple, that they might as well wear burkas, with the caveat that they also be colorful... Sheesh! I'd rather make my own images.

No...thats not the reason most gameshows are using uninteresting clothings like protective gear or gender neutral oufits .....it basically boils down to 2 words.....lawyers and feminists...ha ha.....cos these days we live in a litigious world where people will sue gameshows even if they are playing with flimsy objects.....e.g. the Hole in the Wall game requires people to wear crash helmets....but the wall is only made of polystyrene....so this is nuts....cos how can you get hurt with a polystyrene wall. So, the tv show lawyers require all the protective gear these days....and the feminists write in to complain if the girls dress too sexy....so all the contestants have to be "dumbed down" in order for the show not to be accused of being sexist.
Why do you think that all the versions of the gameshow "Wipe Out" are not actually filmed in the UK or USA where the show airs....and they are actually filmed at the Endomal Production set down in ARGENTINA.....cos that show does not comply with the health and safely regulations in the UK or the USA....so in order to skirt the law....they film that show down in Argentina...which has lax laws on safety standards....and all they do in the USA and UK is add a comentary to the show etc. |

Website: www.asplashofglamour.com Sadly the big problem with mindless sports with wetlook is how they are dressed. Most made for tv productions seem to either think they are doing the participants a favor trying to protect them from the "elements" or are intentionally trying to prevent wetlook fans from enjoying the scene, so they end up dressed in hideous "one size fits all", unisex jumpsuits that look a lot like surplus hazmat suits. ....unless of course you happen to like that sort of thing. Personally I usually don't waste my time watching such shows, nor do they inspire me.

No need to use a proxy to view the Demand5 site, cos the full show has already been posted on numerous tv file sharing forums and was uploaded on monday to Rapidshare, Netload and Rapidgator so I downloaded it from there.
I really do not get this "zorbing" or spheroball craze....I can understand why 6 year olds might like to do this at a playground, but I can't see why adults like to do something that is so poiintless and juvenile.....but I guess if you are unemployed and don't have a life, they design these kinds of silly games for people who have nothing better to do. But hey....at least they put water into the ball so that these zorbing fans get wet at the same time....so it's a mindless game that provides some wetlook entertainment. They should re-design other mindless sports to have some wetlook too....i.e. bunjee jumpers should jump off a 100 ft bridge into a lake....using a 110 ft rope....ha ha

First Pollyanna gets muddy in a white overall on a quad bike, then she gets soaked in a spheroball wearing skinny jeans and then you see her soaked walking in the rain in Cardiff.
