Well.....there is another famous wetlook producer who comes from the same area in the UK too.....cos not far from Bath is the historic city of Bristol...which is where Roger Carpenter of Aquantics used to live and where Leonmoomin lives.....so you had loads lot of wetlook activities taking place in Bristol as well as Bath.

Bristol is noteworthy as being a landmark because it had the first ever on camera demonstration of a wet jeans in the bath jeans shrinking scene that we know of. This occurred in the 1962 Clive Donner film "Some People"...which was filmed entirely in Bristol, where actress Anneke Wills shrinks her jeans in the bath. If you do not know who Anneke Wills is....then you are not a Doctor Who fan...cos she was the female companion Polly to Dr Who (Patrick Troughton) in the 1966 and 1967 episodes of Dr Who. In this 1962 UK film Anneke is in the bath shrinking her jeans when her father (played by Kenneth More) enters the bathroom and asks her what the heck she is doing in the bath in her jeans.....and this scene goes on for a while with some great dialogue while she explains why she has to wet her jeans, and the camera work is great cos they show lots of money shots of her in the bath and standing up and eventually leaving the bath. I am sure director Clive Donner must have been a wetlook fan, cos he captured all the money shots just perfectly. Well....that scene was filmed at a house in Bristol that was just a few doors down from where Roger Carpenter of Aquantics used to live, and he remembers the camera crew filming at the house and all the fuss that it caused at that time (the press were following some scandal on the set cos lead actor Kenneth More had just ditched his wife to have an affair with the other actress in that film, Angela Douglas, who was only 22...and Kenneth More was almost 50 at that time). Anyway, the press were all over the street and Roger remembers them filming that bath scene with Anneke Wills. Ironically, the film was then "lost" for decades cos it was never shown on tv and never released on video.....so it was on our "most wanted" lists for many years, to try and track down a copy of that iconic wet jeans bath scene.....and it was only recently that Roger and I were able to find a private collector who had a copy of that film...which was a rather faded copy with poor colors. I did some color restoration on that film and made some caps of the before and after restoration I did on the faded colors of that film.

What made it madder was that I lived in at the time and am from Somerset about 40 mins from Bath, so to travel 8000 miles to the Falklands (I was UK Military based there for 6 months, not a falkland islander) to find something as big as it was (at the time for me) in a porn mag article that others not only shared my fetish (so I wasn't the only guy in the world haha)....but actually sold videos/pics of my perfect kind of thing were the whole time just 20-30 miles from where I lived/grew up!!

Bizarre....but I've just looked at those links you posted and thought....sheesh....I'd forgotten that scene/this scene and lost the videos/books ages ago. Nice one MK. Blast from the past.

Ahhh, that's the one. Artscene. I even bought a couple of books of wetlook they released as well as some of their videos. Great memories at the time. Couldn't believe there were videos that catered solely on wetlook so felt well chuffed with them. Thought I'd found the holy grail. :-)

Give him my thanks and regards for good health.

That would be David Wilkey's wetlook video company "Artscene". I have known David for over 20 years, as well as his partner Roger who made the Aquantics videos, and Bill Shipton who produced Splosh magazine. David is still around, though he has had to take things easy in the last few years cos he had a mild heart attack and the Doctors told him to slow down a bit (which reminds me of the that old Benny Hill joke.....after my heart attack the doctor told me I was only to have sex with my wife...cos I was not to get too excited). Most of the models you see in David's videos are the same girls who ere often in Splosh magazine and I brought over to Florida to work on my videos...i.e. Sammy Jane, Gill Sampson, Jo Bache, Vicky ....they were all great girls to work with and made shooting wet and messy videos a lot of fun.  David lives in Bath (how poetic) ....his DVD website is here...

Haha MK I hear you on the Falklands and sheep.

But I didn't develop the fetish there alas. Wetlook on the Falklands....Ibiza and the water parties weren't the rage down there. Oddly enough. :-)

I had it from way before but it was down there I first found out I wasn't the only guy in the world with this obscure fetish when I read that article on Splosh. From memory the title of the article was "the cling is the thing" and I'm sure it was about the old Splosh magazine and a video producer in Bath, Somerset area of the UK. Wish I could remember the name of the company. That led to Nigel's old candid VCR tapes. I didn't get online until 98ish.

I remember doing my swimming lessons at school as a kid...gold/silver/bronze and Honours at school where they started you at pyjama's at bronze and you ended up with shoes, trousers and shirt and jumper by honours badge and thinking hey this is great.

It's why I'm fascinated now. From taking anything you could get I've narrowed it down to exactly what works for me now....as in build up/taboo/weddings/formal wetlook. Back in the day a wet vest would have buzzed me. We've been spoiled. Long may it last. :-)

Wow......you say

"I got to 20 years old (in 1992) whilst based in the Falkland Islands"

One wonders how somebody can develop a wetlook fetish when they grew up on the Falkland Islands........cos you say the same old joke about Falkland Islanders as you can about Kiwi guys from New Zealand...cos in New Zealand the sheep outnumber human beings by 27 to 1....and as per Wikipedia the Falkland Islands  only has a population of 3140 people....while there are 700,000 sheep....so the sheep outnumber the humans by 222 to 1.....so the old joke is....

....New Zealand.....a place where men are men.....and sheep are nervous.....ha ha

Now....if you had a developed a fetish for angora or mohair sweaters (which some of my wet sweater customers requiest my models to wear in the pool)....that would make sense.

I must admit....my wetlook interests developed in my childhood when I used to go on holiday with my parents to the beaches in the UK in the 1960's......and I would be at Margate or Brighton  and used to see the loads of "Mods" show up in a fleet of Lambrettas (just like the scenes from the movie "Quadrophenia") and then all their girlfriends would cavort in the sea in their miniskirts and colored tights and boots. But I think if I had grown up on the Falkland Islands.....I doubt I would ever have seen any wetlook at all......and so I may have ended up becoming a "normal person"....ha ha

As Benny Hill used to say......"Ohhhhh   Sheep Dip"

....the psychology of it now. Like MK/Gary Kay allude to now we can pick and choose down to how/why/long sleeve/white clothes/jeans/formal dresses. We're so lucky. And wetlook fan/fetish is not a blanket all. It goes even deeper. Gone are the days when seeing 3 wet t-shirts per year on TV with no way to capture it. The internet changed everything. Enjoy it whilst it lasts.

I got to 20 years old (in 1992) whilst based in the Falkland Islands until I found out I wasn't THE ONLY person on the planet interested in wet clothes. That's pretty massive. And it was only in a soft porn mag (hey those nights are long and boring down there mid-winter :-) ) that did an article on the old 'Splosh' magazine that made me there were others who liked what we like.

Be careful to forget how lucky we are these days...... :-) "in my day....." Hahaha.

I watched this episode last night, it was pretty good for my personal wetlook tastes and it's repeated throughout the week on BBC3 (Ch115 on Sky). It's also on BBC iPlayer.

The premise of the series is that the bride hands over ALL control of the wedding to her groom, down to the theme, venue and dress etc. Last night's episode was the groom choosing to get married in a swimming pool, but the bride doesn't find out anything on the wedding until literally when she turns up on the day. The groom usually, invariably, gets something wrong. The bride is rarely 100% happy, but hey the TV programme gives them Ģ12k to plan the wedding so it's a trade off I guess if a couple can't afford the money!! It's one of those naff fly on the wall series.

I'm fascinated by the psychology of wetlook, in why people do it and why some won't. Last night's episode was very interesting to me with how different people react: "Women going to the wedding, (and not to spoil the ending the bride to be as well....are well horrified when it dawns that she is going to go in to the pool....her dress!!....her make up!!....her hair!!. The groom and his mates see it as a laugh so both parties are well apart on getting a bride wet.

Weddings are my fave kind of wetlook, and I love to hear/see the build up as in will they/won't they go in the lake/pool/sea and what makes them decide to (or not in the end) so maybe last night's programme was more to my taste than others (50 mins of the episode is the groom planning the wedding with horrified dress makers and venue managers saying to the groom "You're going to do what?? In her Dress?? Does she know?? You're brave/mad).

Check it out. As said it's repeated if you can get to Sky/BBC3 or the BBC's iPlayer.
