Try downloading the DivX player. It opens avi files fine for me. Heres the link: www.divx.com its just the player you want i got it for free but it contains adverts.

Hi folks,

Just a quick question.

Alot of times when I try to play avi files I only get the first 5-10 seconds of the video but the audio keeps playing. The video appears to just hang up. I seem to only get this with avi files; mpeg's amd wmv files work just fine.

I'm using windows medis player 9.0

Any sugestions?
