in Armenia there seems to be a kind of songkran in Midsummer, called "vartavar" when people throw buckets of water over each other heads.

I found accidentally this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPN_k2zO-zQ ( some interesting scenes with girls in 1'03, 2'15, 2'58, 3'18 - disregard the minors who appear as well in the video)

I think there must be more on the net, both video's and pictures.
