One Model Place and sites like them as mentioned are networking sites which allow models and photographers to find each other. As a side note, compensation usually depends on the agreement set by either the model or photographer as both parties are known to charge a fee for their services, unless both agree to TFP's (Trade for prints)

Most photographers do take numerous photos during a shoot, however, many photographers are not production photographers, meaning they do not display many images from any given set. They are usually interested in displaying just one fantastic photograph and they spend much more time producing and even retouching that one perfect shot. Sometimes photographers will display more than one image from a set, but the number of images are often low in count. OMP and other sites, usually limits the number of images that a photographer or model can display, this is why you may see a wide variety of images in any given portfolio. If a photographer wants to display the entire set they typically need to have another site for that purpose, such as Flickr
