>Why are the sg clips compressed?

All clips are compressed in some form.......no clip on any website is uncompressed. The Video Vault site is a site for 1GIG downloads...so all clips are compressed to ensure that the file sizes are not larger than 1 gig in size for a 1hr video....which equates to using a bit rate of 2mbps for compression....and 2mbps is perfectly acceptable as a bit rate to use for non HD clips (if the clip is in HD, then I use the 720 hd standard for compression, which is 4mbps).

FYI, if the clips were not compressed, then a 1hr video in uncompressed avi format would be 14gigs in size...and nobody wants to download a file that is 14gigs in size, so all clips must be compressed.

None of the clips I make are DRM protected, they are all totally free from drm controls. If you are having problems, then it must be a problem with the media player you are using and the codecs that are loaded to that media player.

FYI there is a difference between the DD series clips and the SG series clips. The DD series are filmed using American tv format NTSC cameras, so those clips are created using NTSC codecs, whereas the SG series are shot on Russian made PAL format cameras, so those clips are made using PAL tv system codecs.....but both formats should play just fine on most media players.

If you are having problems with VLC player....try using the free GOM player....or..a player I prefer to GOM these days is the free KM player....you can download it from here,,,

Historically 88% of the world uses a pc and only 12% uses a Mac, and Steve Job's hated Bill Gates until the day he died, so Steve Jobs never wanted his products to be fully compatible with Microsoft oriented products.

Howerever there is a good software that Mac users can use to play wmv files, and that is called Flip4mac.....have you tried this player...

FYI, while historically we have always made our files in WMV format, I plan to make a new site later this summer where the files will be in MP4 format, which is a better format for HD video and for streaming videos.
