Yet another thought. Look thru the "album" of engagement photos recently presented. Some of those might furnish inspiration of continuity to a story. I have already done that.

Consider the movie "Lars and the Real Girl". Depending on your point of view it could seem wacky, irrelevant, and silly, or engaging, smart, and touching. The point: here is an example of a story which a lot of people can connect to, even if their own selves, lives, and circumstances are nothing like that of the main character, just because of the way the story unfolds. Tell your story the right way, and it might just work.
