Dear Eric, maybe you are too young to remember, but in 1976 it was damn hot too ! If I remember well, it was one of the first times the French policemen allowed people to bath in Trocadero fountains... I was there...

37°C (99°F) yesterday, and they say it will be worse today with 39°C (102°F). I don't remember it being so hot ever ; the air is simply too thick to breathe, but then again, there are more people in the fountains than around them !
