I believe that this takes place on the Jordan river, presumably near where Jesus himself got baptised by Saint John the Baptist. I presume that those outfits are loaned to the people. They make for exquisite pictures. I have seen other like it.

This is most likely a repost - but here is a set of very different baptism photos. It seems to be some group of orthodox believers getting dunked in what looks like a white hijab.
