Ngawa: I am not familiar with local Welsh TV region shows. I lived in London in the 60's and 70's, so I only know the London Region and National TV shows...not local shows only shown on local regions. E.G. we never got to see the earliest TISWAS shows made from 1975 to 1977, cos those were only seen in the ATV Birmingham area, and we only saw TISWAS from 1977 onwards when it became a national tv show. The best person to ask about local Welsh tv region shows would be Leon....cos that is the region where he comes from.  BTW -- seeing as your name is Ngawa....I guess you must be in mourning viz the recent death of Johnny Sheffield (aka Jungle Boy) last month....and RIP to James MacArthur....e.g. Dan-ho from the original Hawaii 5-0 who passed last week (the new 2010 Hawaii series really sucks, big time, they changed all the chemistry and dynamics in the characters that existed in the original series, and made the new 2010 series a load of crap).

One more thing, that Neil Innes pic you linked to - yes, that is some of the scenes from the "Bath Tub Theatre" scene I was referring to that I had recently found on the net. I have the complete episode. Those pics do not show the 2 better parts of that sketch segment..i.e. actress Wanda Ventham in the bath tub, and a lady in a restaurant getting soaked in a restaurant scene with indoor showers.

Suwam: Yvette Fielding is far too young (too late) for me to have seen any of her shows. She was only born in 1968, and I left the UK in 1979 to live in Asia and then in the USA, so I only watched UK tv shows from the early 60's until 1979. I do not consider the 1980's or 90s to be vintage tv, and she she was only on tv from the early 90's onwards....heck, when I watched "Blue Peter"....the hosts were Valerie Singleton, John Noakes and Peter Purves...and their pet dogs were Shep and Petra....thats how far back I go. The 1980's and 90's are not my time period of interest. I am mostly interested in the golden era of UK tv shows...i.e. the 1960's and 70's. I did a check on IMDB and it seems Yvette Fielding did a Saturday Morning show in 1993 called "Saturday Disney". I never saw that show....but the theme of having buckets of water thrown over the hosts on a Disney show rings a bell with me....cos duing that same time period of early to mid 90's there was a GERMAN DISNEY CLUB show airing on German television that was doing the exact same thing....and I have 8-10 wet scenes from German Disney Club on tape. I uploaded some of those to thewambank already....

I am pretty sure that the UK Disney Club show may have copied what they did on that German version of the show, or vice versa.

I would of thought they were only shown in wales and not the rest of the uk, Do you remember a short lived saturday morning show on itv which featured former blue peter presenter yvette fielding where she used to get random buckets of water thrown over her for no reason throughout the show,

I'd love to see those old knockout games featuring wet netball skirts. British forumites might remember a Welsh tv show called "Siarabang" which aired in the mid 80s. It was a kind of travelling roadshow where they visited a different town each week. They always had games where people got wet in a variety of shorts, trousers and skirts. I remember one game where they had to roll a giant ball around an obstacle course featuring a tank of water. I've done a few searches for this show but have so far turned up nothing. Another Welsh show was one called "Pentymora" which featured a tug-o'-war across a river - again with the girls in shorts or netball skirts. In the meantime a quick google image search turned up this:

Yes....they would still be good, and your memories are correct...they did wear the full netball/gym skirts and blouses in the earlier versions of It's a Knockout tv shows that I saw on UK tv from the mid 60's til the early 70's....i.e. the era when Katie Boyle and David Vine hosted the show. Unfortunately by the mid 70's the show went "international" and joined forced with the French version of the show (Intervilles) and the German version (Telematch) and they created the international version called "Jeux Sans Frontiers" (Games without Borders) and then they eliminated all the girls wearing gym skirts and went into the new era of spandex and silly animal costumes.

Sadly, most of the tapes from the best years of It's a Knockout have been wiped, and even Stuart Hall (who bought the rights to the show in later years) has very few recordings of those earlier shows from the 1960's when the girls wore the gym skirts in the pool games.

The irony is, while the IKO tv show never used gym skirts since the early 70's, those same gym skirts HAVE made a comeback at the PRIVATE corporate events and company picnics and and CHARITY events stage It's a Knockout events in public parks and company events around the UK each year, cos wetlook fan "Wet Brian" has attended some of these events 4-5 years ago and sent me his amateur video tapes of these public IKO events in the UK...and many of the girls in the teams are now wearing gym skirts or school uniforms again. So, if you still want to see wet gym skirts and school uniforms on the pool games at IKO events, you will not see that on tv, and you need to go to one of the many IKO events that are held as charity events in public parks around the UK each summer.

I wonder if those 70's It's A Knockout pool games would stand the test of time, I recall the girl's wearing their full Netball/Hockey kits in the water,

True....our memories always tend to exaggerate things that we first saw decades ago.

There is one other long lost Python-esque wetlook scene that has been lost for decades and I have never been able to find since I saw it myself on UK in 1968. This is the pre-Python series called "Do Not Adjust Your Set" which starred a very young David Jason with Eric Idle, Terry Jones and  Michael Palin and Denise Coffey, doing wacky sketches before they created the Python team.

This series was made by Thames TV and aired at 5pm....so few adults ever saw this series....because it was on the air before most people came home from work, and I had to race home from school to catch it....so it was aired during the childrens tv period, which was odd, because the humour was way way over the heads of most kids and was much more adult oriented as Python was.

Anyway, they only made 27 shows, and in one of those shows I saw a great wetlook sketch called "Handel's Water Music" where the entire cast were in formal attire in showers and bath tubs...playing Handel's Water Music concerto etc.

In 2005 they did release 9 of the episodes on a DVD boxed set, and I ordered that,....but that scene was not included, so presumably that sketch is lost forever cos it was among the 18 missing episodes where the tapes were wiped.....but perhaps one day somebody will find those lost tapes at a car boot sale in the UK.....cos that was a very funny series....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_Not_Adjust_Your_Set

But here is a TIP for a wetlook scene that I do NOT have....that IS available now in the UK. Here is another long lost wet scene I saw in 1969 fhat HAS been restored and found now....from the Ronnie Barker David Jason series "Hark at Barker". Ronnie plays Lord Rustless and Jospehine Tewson (from Keeping Up Appearances)  falls into the lake fully clothed in one of those episodes. This series has not been aired in 40 years and has recently been released in the UK now....so the first person to upload that scene to theWambank can get 100 credits too...here is the link to where you can get that DVD series...

Test your skills at internet surfing, and see if you can find what I have already found.

If you are a budding Indiana Jones and have good detective skills, then you can find some treasures and I will give you tips and then those who are successful will win prizes of 100 wambank credits for each item they can manage to track down.

I have posted some tips on the first 4 items you can hunt for on the net...see here

http://www.thewambank.com/search.php

This should be easy for some of you....cos you found that Julie Snyder/Celine Dion clip really fast, so the items I will list will not be easy things you can find on youtube, and you will need to use your detective skills to go to other places instead.

Have fun searching...infos are are    http://www.thewambank.com/search.php

If nobody finds these items in the next 2 months, I will eventually post them myself, but I thought it would be fun to let others search for them and get the credits instead.
