While we all appreciate the forum - I think the main issue has been overlooked: WLP is running a very shady operation! All the updates are not updates, they are updates that were available years ago. In South Africa we have consumer protection, and this site would have been shut down, should it be run from here. I am surprised that the US does not have such protection. It does not matter that WLP is a sponsor; they are taking money under false pretences. I have already downloaded most of the sets, and I am in effect paying again for sets that I already have. |

By Stephan - Sat 02/10/10 04:29:18 GMT You may be right for some countries. But specially here in Europe it is not so easy with the BANKS.
INTERNET-CHEATERS have a lot of instruments like SCHUFA and INKASSO(collection)-Buereaus where you can have a long fight to get your money back.
So it is better to be warned bevor you pay. |

By Miguel - Sat 02/10/10 03:17:22 GMT OK, maybe they do delete most of your warnings (however this thread is not deleted), but you seem to think of this in the same way that you think of the censorship+sponsorship issue regarding to mighty corporations. This forum is not one. It costs Nigel quite a lot of money to run and though most users like it for the free candid stuff, there is no money in that. Users don't donate. We have this place only thanks to sponsors. And Nigel has been running it (which is not even his job) for many years since the old Bravenet forum fell. Apart from being expensive, this is quite time consuming. He has to battle with trolls quite often etc. So I think that even if there is some slight censorship on criticism of sponsors this is a very low price to pay. Especially as joining is by credit card and the chargeback policy makes the fight against untrustworthy sites quite easy. |

By Anonymous - Fri 01/10/10 06:20:36 GMT There was someone (can't remember his nick), who constantly(as a replay to nearly ever post of wetlook pro) posted this fact here. |
In reply to Message (46267) Wetlook Pro
By Winchester 1961 - timsinct@telkomsa.net Fri 01/10/10 02:47:20 GMT I signed up to Wetlook Pro 3 years ago, and recently signed up again, only to find the updates of the last few months were "updates" I had already downloaded 3 years ago! Over three quarters of the recent updates were old updates! Anyone else this experience? |
