I have no idea what "cosplay" is, but this certainly proves why we still need such sillyness out there :) I've seen evidence of emos/goths (can't tell the difference) seemingly preferring to go swimming fully clothed before, too. Good stuff.

These (incredibly hot) girls don't seem to be wearing anything but normal street clothes, though, so I don't think they're doing it for the image.

I think there is two factors:

1. Some girls prefere to hold to certain fashion trend, such as emo, goth, cosplay, etc. They keep their shoos/socks/tights on, even in water, because if they put them off they, as they think, would lose their fashion image.

2. Russia is not such a clean and safe country. Russian girls from they childhood know what could be the glass shards in the water, remained from the broken bottle, especially if this place is not on the foreign tourists path where the street cleaners required to keep it clean.

I find it incredibly hot with these girls who walk in with socks and shoes still on.

All around the world, girls seem willing enough to get wet in shirts, shorts, skirts, jeans, and whatnot, but only russians seem to keep their shoes on in the water? How come?
