Well, there is a way to save the pictures, although it is quite some manual work:
Open the picture and press the button "Print Screen" on your keyboard and then paste the result into MS-Paint or other photo-software, resize and cut out and save.
Admittedly this will keep you occupied on a rainy Sunday afternoon, but I have done this one some occasion with memorable photos.
