Guess I didn't have the latest, since I went to the DivX site and downloaded some freeware and the clip now plays fine in all players - I always assumed relatively up to date players automatically checked for latest software - no so I guess? Thanks for pointing that out.

To reiterate the comment on clip quality, it is fantastic and I look forward to your conversion to the new format!!!

Also, do you have problems with DivX's from any other wetlook producer.

Hi Kev. I re-downloaded the file, and closed all other programs on my system. I then ran the clip using RealPlayer, Windows Media player and WinDVD4. In all cases, I encountered the same problem as before, the picture freezes 10 seconds into the clip and remains frozen (the music keeps playing and the timer runs to the end of the 26 seconds). I am mystified, as I am running Windows XP in a machine with 512MB memory and a 2.4GHz processor!

have just posted a short (around 30 seconds) DivX movie to the freesite- it's on the video page.

As you know I have been experimenting with DivX to improve the quality of the movies we have available for download. I'm about 90% of the way to getting the optimum we want to put on the members' site.

Please take a look and let us know what you think- particularly when viewed full screen.

For Styx memebers this clip is taken from part 1 of the "Mackenzie" clip- you can compare the existing mpeg with the DivX and let us know your feelings as to whether it would be good to move over to this format.

I will be posting more free clips in the next few weeks as I gradually improve the quality.
