Make sure your lighting is adequate and do not shoot against an open sunny window, will throw off the cameras aperture and your video or photography will show as dark. light your model from more than one angle to cut down on the shadows. Don't use florescent lighting! Details, compose your shots well and be aware of things in the background that will detract from your shots, unnecessary clutter and things that do not need to be there. Keep it simple. Capture the whole session, nothing worse than a great wetlook scene with nothing before or after. Be sure your model is complete, if shes a cheerleader give her everything she needs to look the part, if she is to be a bride make sure she has a veil and heels and flowers. Be aware of your model as you shoot, is her hair the way you want, is she wearing a blue dress against a blue wall, are there parts of the outfit showing like tags or straps? Details. MOST IMPORTANT is the safety of your model!!! If you are in a pool area or hottub or whatever insure there is no chance lighting or electrical equipment could fall into the water. Insure she is watched over while walking in wet clothes, slip hazards, trip hazards, walking in wet clothes, while sensual, can be difficult if you are say in a long gown. Most importantly have fun while doing it. |

By Arthur+Chappell - arthur@chappell7300.freeserve.co.uk Thu 07/01/10 21:21:47 GMT Website: http://arthurchappell.me.uk/wetlook.in.popular.culture.htm With some excitement, I have arranged a chance to do some wetlook photography with a model (a lady in her mid-twenties) in the near future, most likely a bathtub and shower shoot, with a chance of a swimming pool shoot later on. I am wondering therefore if the forum has some tips on taking good shots, ie, how hot should a bath’s water run, so that the model is comfortable but not to steam out a bathroom and make the shots look cloudy, etc. – What, apart from obvious blunders like leaving a lens cap on, etc, can ruin a god wetlook shot (I’m talking as a photographer here, rather than a fan. It would be good to see the excellent togs here talk about the mistakes they have made for those of us just starting out. When the shoot has taken place, I’ll arrange to show some of the work through here too. Cheers. Arthur Chappell |
