Just a thought, Graham, but have you tried the movie industry? What is your big studio in the UK, Sheperton? They may be willing to let go of costume uniforms, or the studio may out source to a company that could let go of some stock. I remember back in the 70s "Western Costume", a huge California outfit that provides costumes and props for Hollywood held several large sales of stuff (everything was really inexpensive); the sales included a lot of original military uniforms and equipment. It was a real boon for collectors. It wouldn't hurt to ask. K. |

By Graham (UK) - graham@styxwetworld.com Sat 14/06/03 08:16:30 GMT Website: www.styxwetworld.com I'm not aware of any particular site but we have been asked by several members to do a shoot in uniforms. We've looked around a bit. It's easy to get the "play/joke" stuff but the real things are a bit trickier. Many, except perhaps for stewardess, are made for women who are (shall we say) larger sizes than the average UK model we use - who averages around a UK size 8 and 5.5 feet tall with size 5/6 feet. If we can source uniforms, we'll do the shoots. |
