It's just plain 'ol denim with a special finish added after the jeans are made. A bit like the spray-on stain protector you might use on your upholstery. All it's doing is repelling water. It isn't water proof. I think the fabric would still soak through if you wore the jeans into the pool (or put them in the washer). Go for a swim in them and when you come out, you'll still be walking around in heavy, drippy denim. Just don't expect them to get wet from walking in the rain.

You are all missing a trick here: If these do catch on, then you'll probably see a lot more people in the water wearing jeans, because their traditional objection of wet clothes being uncomfortable or in some other way unacceptable, would be taken away from them. I think you'll see a lot more people up for spontaneous wettings. Then, if you've got all that, whose going to notice a few of us amongst them enjoying ourselves in the traditional wet clothes way?!

So it's like advanced polyester? If it does become popular I can see a backlash to it within two years. At least I hope.

I don't know if it would be so bad i know it would really suck for wetlook but but this way we could go swimming without getting our clothes wet or needing a swimming suit
In reply to Message (40049.1) Sad I agree.
