I have a couple webstores. Someone with another store stole my product description and linked to my product picture. I replaced the picture on my server with a banner that read something like "I'm such a slimebag thief, I steal other people's content instead of creating my own. Do you really want to do business with me?" It was on his store that way for a couple days :). Now I file a DMCA takedown notice with their ISP. Got one guy's store thrown out of YaHoo Small Business hosting for repeat offenses. Check out the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. It's got teeth. Thank You Bill Clinton! |

By John - Mon 20/04/09 19:34:53 GMT Website: http://www.thejeanpool.com/ If you have a site with pictures, and someone is making linkthroughs to them, a couple of easy fixes would be:
1. Replace the linked picture with a different one (and new filename)
2. Move the picture to a new directory on your site, but remember to change the urls on your site.
These will break the links.
