I think timing may play a big part of it.

How many of us guys who first saw girls and women all wet fully clothed or dressed

in non-swim clothes, saw it first during our puberty, right at the moment when

our sexual hormones were kicking in, for the very first time in our lives?

That was the case with me. In the summertime, at the public pool, I saw

girls I'd gone to school with, in their swimsuits and bikinis, and I was

not affected by their underwear-like swimwear,

but by the wetness of their beautiful hair

as they swam and played in the water.

I was seeing them in a way I was not used to, and I liked it.

At precisely that time in my life, I began to see in some movies

and on some TV shows and ads, images of women falling into

the water fully clothed, sometimes in dresses. And of course, their hair got wet

with their clothes.

Since my exposure to young women in wet clothes [or at least wet hair]

happened right at that time when my puberty kicked in, I'd have to

say it was a combination of nature, nurture, and above all, perfect timing,

conspiring together.

I, for one, have always found wetlook to be FAR sexier than nudity!

What can be wrong with that?

However it happened, I caught the wetlook "bug" at an early age,

and it's with me to stay! :)

Interesting question and my reply goes like this.

At primary school some 48/50 years ago I was interested in getting wet myself and if a girl got wet even better. Now

sex was nothing I had ever heard of so whatever drove this feeling it was nothing to do with sex as we know it now.

I just liked the feel of getting wet particularly my underwear. At this time I had never even seen a nude girly picture.

As I grew up I was no longer interested in getting wet myself and only concentrated on watching girls get wet, a subject I still follow fastidiously to this day naturally but unfortunately my one and only love of over 35 years does not share my dreams so it has to be via voyeurism and sites like this I am afraid.

Yes now I find wet women sexy and thank heavens for this site as it offers a 'release' from my frustrations.

Your friend seems to think our ideas perverted but have you asked him what spins his wheels, perhaps wife swapping, addicted to oral sex or some other deviant practice not that there is anything wrong providing it is consensual,. I think our fetish must be one of the most harmless on the planet and have you noticed that nearly 100% of the girls pictured are really enjoying getting wet?.

This question came to me after I was engaged in an IM conversation with someone, and eventually I happened to bring up one of the wetlook sites that frequently advertises themselves on this forum (Which one? Visit them all, dammit!

), and he more or less laughed it off, finding it totally weird and lousier than softcore pornography, prior to making theories on the webmaster's income, saying that he makes probably $30,000 a year off that website (the guy I was talking to runs a fansite for a sports team, BTW) and then he joked that he should start his own porn site.

So this led me to another question, is our enthusiam of wetlook something we trained ourselves to be, or is it an innate characteristic, activated by a satisfying stimulant?

... I guess this is yet another installment of "Nature vs. Nurture"
