The show "Quantum Leap" originally aired on NBC from spring 1989 through May 1993, and reruns air on the ION network daily at 4PM CT. I would only count wetlook with female actors as female characters, rather than episodes where Sam Beckett leaps into a woman's life.

Does anyone recall an episode of Quantum Leap where Sam, an old Native American and his Grandaughter are travelling through open countryside. Towards the end they have to cross a river to get to the sacred land. The old man is on a horse and Sam and the grandaughter (who is somewhere around 20-25 years of age) have to wade through the torrent guiding the horse. The woman is wearing light blue jeans tucked into leather knee boots and a heavy sweater. There is a really good scene of her coming out of the water absolutely soaking wet. I have tried to find this episode on DVD but I cannot find it....
