I understand why they are wearing their jeans, but why do they take off their shirts? And why is it almost always only those girls wearing jeans who take off their shirts? (Not the girls wearing shorts, or skirts, or slacks.) Is this some sort of cultural thing?

I think most women are genuinely thrilled about the idea of getting into the water with their jeans on. Then they realize how good the jeans feel in the water, and especially how tight and clinging they are out of the water. Many women have tried this before, so they are eager to do it again.

There have been a few you tubes recently showing whole groups of people in a swimming pool, where all of the women are wearing jeans, and many of these you tubes seem to come from mexico or south america. Is wet clothing more accepted down there or is it becoming more popular everywhere?

I've noticed that in various party-pictures (foam and pool parties mostly) that one often sees young women wearing jeans and bras (with no shirts.) I was wondering why this was? One rarely sees them wearing other types of pants, or shorts, or skirts (even denim ones) and bras. I had a number of theories, but they all seemed problematical.

Theory #1: They wanted to strip off, but were too modest to take off their pants (probably due to their underwear being either ugly or too revealing. Problem: this seems to be a pretty small range of modesty. Often these girls seem to have attractive underwear peaking over the low waistlines of their jeans as they bend over. Also, if this was the case then slightly less modest girls might strip to their underwear, but this doesn't seem to be common in the pary photos.

Theory #2: They want to strip off, but keep their pants on because they are embarrassed about how fat their thighs are. Problem: these girls are usually skinny. Also, if this was the reason, one would expect that similarly embarrassed girls would take off their shirts and leave on skirts, khaki's etc.

Theory #3: They want to swim clothed, but are worried about ruining their shirts. Problem: As for #2 above, why would only girls in jeans have this issue. Also, one sometimes sees them wearing shoes, which are probably more of a problem getting we than shirts. (They can't all have been wearing "dry clean only" sweaters.

So, anyone have any insight?
