The latest DivX release is very buggy, especially if you have an AMD K6 chip, the previous one is still available to download because of this, http://www.divx.com/

first go and remove all the divx codecs and everything else associated with them then reinstall. If u have the Win Med Player version 9, Make sure u have everything installed that has to do with it. Keeping in mind that .rm and .ram files will NOT play on the wmp only on the Realone player,unless u use a program such as the EOVideo converter (eo-video.com)and convert those files to either avi or mpg files.It does increase the file size of those clips but the quality is so much better. This way I have everything played thru wmp videos and music. Hope this helps

Codecs and such

A few weeks ago, some kind soul posted the Divix site to download Codecs so I could view some of the more recent video clips posted.

I was doing fine with such a download, and was able to play clips on my Windows Media player prior to a recent computer crash and virusectomy.

OK, went to Divix, downloaded and such.

But I still cannot play most of the new generation of clips on MS Media player. It "sends out" for the appropriate codec, then tells me it cannot play, or there was an "error" in downloading the codec.

It may be that I placed the divix downloads in a place where the MS player cannot get access to them...or something. I used to be able to play them without problem, but now???

Assistance would be appreciated.
