...all we can do is hope things will get better....it amazes me that the BBC can create 2 great shows (Dr Who and Torchwood) and then they let the casting agents and writers screw things up....i.e. the casting agents for Dr Who need their head examined....if they think Catherine Tate is a good addition to the next series, cos that is about as bad as re-casting Dr Who, with Terry Wogan.

As for Torchwood, we are going to see season 2 a lot earlier now in he USA...starting on Jan 26th, and that series is highly rated in the USA. I just wish they would cut all the gay sex scenes from that show and focus on sci fi instead of pandering to the gay community in every episiode. Torchwood was supposed to be a more "intelligent" series, ...note to the writers of that show.... it requires no intelligence at all....to plant a "formula" girl on girl or guy guy snogging scene in every episode. But I love the irony of how intelligent Torchwood is....e.g. it is supposed to be a super secret agency....yet they show up in a big black range rover that has the words TORCHWOOD plastered on the side of the car and on the roof too....now thats a really clever way to keep a secret....plaster it all over your car....ha ha

Here's another irony about technology too......how "effiicient" or "productive" has all the latest technolgy made us today....when it comes to film or television productions these days....compared to 30 years ago...before the digital age.  Back in the 1970's.....before all these technlology advancements, every tv series made in the USA or the UK....used to produce an average of 24 to 30 episodes each year/season. But today....almost every tv series that is made....can only make 13 episodes per year now....they used to make twice as many episodes of Dr Who per year before all the technology and special effects crept in....and I would rather have less technlogy and better writing and scripts, than so many unnecessary special effects in shows these days.

So...I would argue that technology has not made the film or tv industry more productive, but less productive, cos now with all this technology they can only produce half as many shows each year these days......

But it is fun seeing all the famous Leonmmoomin wetlook shoot locations....now appearing on Torchwood shows too.

In reply to Message (33189) Hello UK wetlook events for the Xmas Season

About 10 years ago their used to be an amateur website called "The Wam Travel Guide" that listed all the wet & messy events (by month) for 30 different countries, and I contributed tons of infos to that site, but sadly the site no longer exists today. This is a shame, cos it would be nice to have a list of events by country and month of the year so that wam fans will know what is happening every month in their region. Perhaps somebody will create another Wam Travel Guide site one day.

Anyway, here is a list of upcoming fully clothed/fancy dress charity swim events taking place in the UK over the Christmas/New Year holiday period. You can find hundreds of links and pics and infos to these events by just searching for the usual keywords on Flickr, Webshots, Youtube and use Google to find the official sites for these events. If you happen to live near any of these UK towns and cities, just contact your local town council or Lions club, cos they are mostly organized by local civic organizations. Anyway....if you live near any of these places, you can find lots of fancy dress nurses, St Trinian's schoolgirls, and other girls swimming in many different clothes and costumes....so grab your camcorder and head to the beach....on these days...and go to these towns and cities...

XMAS DAY

- Brighton Charity Swim

NEW YEARS DAY

- Dundee, Broughty Ferry

- Queensferry, The Moorings, Scotland (the Looney Dook)

- The Bray charity swim in Ireland (3rd largest event after Seaburn and Tenby)

If any of you are brave enough to put your wellies on and stand on the beach in the cold to film these events, you can claim a reward for sending in a copy of your video footage to me (Wamtec), where you can get $100 in wamtec-credits for every 30 minutes of footage you send in (to be used to buy memberships or dvds on any of our sites).

For those of you who do not own a pair of wellies or too busy to attend these events, don't forget to watch the new "Dr Who Xmas Special" on the BBC this Xmas, cos this new episode is set on board the Titanic, and features guest star Kylie Minogue as a maid on the sinking ship.

Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays
