i have gone swimming in a skirt & top

as well as a dress nobody said a word .

i also went swimming @ ontario place with my clothes on

& that place has rules you are to wear a proper bathing suit !

but in this new era things are moore relaxed !

i haven't worn a swim suit in 5yrs

CLOTHES ARE FUN !!

Hmm. I guess I'm more inclined to just jump in first and ask questions later. Asking permission seems like a good way to be told "no". Even if a desk clerk was personally okay with it (or even into it, as Trish's post shows) they might feel obligated to say no because of their job. But if you just went for it, they might not take the initiative to come out and ruin your fun. And what's the worst that could happen? They'd kick you out of the hotel? I can't imagine that. They'd just ask you to get out of the water. But then you already be nice and soaked and could go back to your room and . . . .

By the way, I always read the rules posted at hotel pools, and I have never seen anything that said anything about clothes or "proper attire" or anything. The rules are always about no alcohol, no diving, no running . . . never "no fully clothed swimming." So it must be okay then, right? :-)

Just a question to all those who swim clothed in hotel pools. Only once has my fiance and I gotten the nerve to jump in a hotel pool fully clothed, and that was at an out door rooftop pool in Brazilia in the middle of the day. When really nobody else would be around, and nobody cared.

My question is, when in mid-America, do you normaly just jump in and see if anyone says anything. Or, go to the front desk and say, "Hey, I noticed you have an indoor pool. We'd love to use it, but we're on the road and forgot swimsuits. Would you mind if we took a dip like this?" Just want to know what kind of response people have gotten. I could see my fiance being more open to it, if we had explicit permision. Thanks.

I don't like business trips and fortunately I don't have to go often, but recently I discovered one advantage: swimming fully clothed in a hotel pool. I have only traveled twice since, but in both hotels nobody cared. I swam on multiple occasions for about half an hour in jeans, T-shirt and a longsleeve T-shirt. The staff was certainly aware of it, but did not say anything. Was I just lucky?
