Hi. I've swum in hotel pools four times, never with any problem. Once on a business trip at the Hyatt, I walked down to "look" at the pool and hot tub. No one was around, so I took off my shoes and walked right into the jacuzzi, dress pants, white dress shirt, socks, and all. I figured the bubbles would kind of hide me and what I was wearing. After no one came for a while, I got out (whoo! I love that feeling!) and walked over to the pool and jumped in. I was swimming in the middle of the pool when some guy came in, walked by the pool, and went into the weight room. He didn't even look at me.
Another time, I swam in an outdoor pool at a rather seedy motel 6 in Memphis in broad daylight. There were housekeepers working all around the pool area. They obviously saw me (in my tight levi 501s and black t shirt) but they couldn't care less. I spent a lot of time going in and out, laying on the hot concrete soaking wet, sitting on the steps half in, half out. A good time.
My wife and I went in hotel hot tubs and pools fully clothed (in nice clothes too) at least three times. Only once did anyone say anything to us, at a fancy place too on the beach in Florida. We were really into it when a security guard came by, but instead of being mean, he seemed a little embarrassed and just informed us that the spa was closed (it was after hours). He left though without making us get out.
Oh yeah--I remember another time in Atlanta . . . and another time in Tennessee . . . and several times in California where I "fell" in with tight jeans, a nice dress shirt and sweater . . .
Wow--it's probably been ten times! I didn't realize that! Thanks for asking! Ten times and not one problem. It's worth it! Do it! |

By Mark - jtsmark@yahoo.com Sun 07/10/07 18:59:13 GMT I don't like business trips and fortunately I don't have to go often, but recently I discovered one advantage: swimming fully clothed in a hotel pool. I have only traveled twice since, but in both hotels nobody cared. I swam on multiple occasions for about half an hour in jeans, T-shirt and a longsleeve T-shirt. The staff was certainly aware of it, but did not say anything. Was I just lucky?
