Actually, I think that a lot of the Youtube videos are really quite reasonable for what they are. They are not, by and large, made by professional wetlook producers, but they are real records of actual events. Yes, some of them are shaky, some of them have a lot of build-up and no shots of people getting out of the water, but they are not produced for our benefit, whatever it is we are looking for. I guess that most of the candid videos are put on Youtube, or one of the other sites, as a bit of fun and I, for one, am quite happy to enjoy them as such, a bit of fun. |

It seems that YouTube is a consistent disappointment when it comes to candid wetlook. If there is a 1 minute video, 55 seconds is the person getting carried to the water to be thrown in and 5 seconds in the water. Then - it's cut off. No good and long shots of the chick coming out and seeing her clinging clothes in some nice shots. Instead, it's almost always cut off. In addition, 50% of the videos are really crappy quality - shakey, blurry - and then there are the ones where the camera goes sideways - what's up with that?
I'm not saying I don't look at them - just that for the number that are out there that there are very few of any decent quality. I guess it's like candid wetlook pictures in that you have to see 20 to get one or two that are really outstanding. I just think in the YouTube world it's more like 100 to 1 when it comes to candid videos.
Good news - it can only improve!
Just voicing my views ...
