another simple way is saving the whole page (strg+s) to a folder, then open the folder that belongs to the html file, there you habe three jpgs with the typical flickr name (long numbers-letters combination*). Two are thumbnails, the third one (often the middle one) is the actual pic you want. save the pic by mouse-dragging it to any wanted folder of yours, then discard the saved html and respective data folder.

In one session, save several pages, afterwards, go and open the folders to collect the pics -- saves you not only the pics but also time.

* the actual spaceball is just a layer of 1-pixel-gifs above the pic to prevent direct saving. Don't save the "Spaceball.gif" you find in the folder! Just leave it.

easiest way is to print screen (top right on your keyboard) and then paste into a program like paint or photoshop - you can then crop what you dont want and save as a JPEG.

Hi DH: You're right - I shouldn't have said all. I know the photos on Stormy Waters' site gives me the spaceball gif. My system does allow me to convert from gif to bitmap when I do save it, however afterwards you cannot see or open the picture - it won't allow you. About the only way I can save the photos are when they are in thumbnail format. Right clicking and "save as" does save in the jpeg format, albeit the photos are small.

"Spaceball" means a gif instead of a jpeg or a bitmap. I don't know what you mean that "all" flickr pictures do this. The vast majority of flickr pictures save properly, but a few do the spaceball gif crap. Did all of these pictures do the spaceball thing? Or just some of them. Which ones?

Great finds! I've noticed that all flickr photos can not be save by right clicking and save as! When you do, it saves as a "Spaceball"! Anyone know what spaceball is (other than a device to prevent saving) and how do you get around it to save?

HERE YOU GO! The 2 women on the right we saw in the water in the last picture. Here they are some time later, no longer soaked but still damp. The other 3 might be damp also, hard to tell.
