The fallacy in your argument is that black people cannot change the color of their skin (except Michael Jackson) and obese people usually can change the amount of fat they carry. The reason fat has a negative connotation is human beings in general find it to be a negative trait.

I think a more honest term would be "plus-sized woman". The word "fat" has a negative connotation, and comparing these women to animals like "whale", "cow", "pig", and "elephant" is insulting and derogatory. That would be like calling blacks "monkeys".
