A lot of Youtubes are shot by people using Cell Phones!
They are not the same design as your standard video camera, ie, they are cell phones, so they do not have the hand strap on the side etc, that camcorders do! Usually these people don't shoot a lot of video, they just hit the record on their cell phones and point it in the direction of the subject! Video cell phones vary a lot, but, generally, the phone has to be tipped on its side to film landscape video.
To do everything else on a cell phone, ie, play games, call people, add contacts, the phone is used in a vertical position!
