Hey RM...I've burned alot of my tapes to DVD and never run into any problems with copy protection...the only problem you'll have is getting a good picture with no artifacts...VHS is the most difficult source to transfer to digital...I finally have a setup that does a nice job...I went with a SVHS player...then used SVideo cable to a Panasonic DVD Recorder that has TBC and Noise Reduction...I'm able to copy a 2 hour tape to DVD with perfect results...I've never tried a combo deck but just be sure to have TBC (Time Base Correction) and DNR on the deck you buy...believe me it makes a big difference...good luck |

By RM - Sat 14/04/07 01:16:11 GMT I have a modest collection of WAM tapes from various producers and I figure that I'd better transfer them to DVD before they degrade much more. I've started to look at VHS/DVD recorders and some mention that they will not allow copy protected tapes to be transferred. Do (or should I say.. did) any WAM producers use copy protected tapes? |
