depending on where you live and  how  warm it gets in the spring..  Open as sonn as possible to avoid aglee growing in standing water or  buy a cover for 300.00 and cover it during the winter.

Now  the  cost.   electricity is the least of your worries.....You  will have  to  vacuum this pool at least once a week or have an automatic vacuum do it (cost extra)....Plus  you need to skim it daily  geting all flies and crap out of it.    Clean  your skimmer basker each week  and  filter basket.   Backwash  the filter system at least onmce a week  depending on usage of the pool....

Remember this  for a wetlook person..  NO  cut off  stings of shorts jeans frayed  or fuzzy sweaters.

These things over a peried of weeks will clog  your filter system and cost you maitenece repairs....

NOW  the cost.....Expect start up cost each spring to be  about $250-$300

in Chemicals  along.....Shock, chloriene, algiecide, PH chemicals  and  more.

This is just  start up... you  must  keep the water tested and in bal;ance the whole year or you will get green water..............Pools are fun,  but lots of  work  and if you got the money, hire a pool company to come out weekly and do it 4 you.....They are not cheap.....but  reliable  and  lets U just play in the pool  without worries....

have fun if you get one, but you have been  warned by a person who has

had an inground pool for 8 years.

Thinking of adding an in-ground pool to our backyard.  People are telling me how bad of an investment it is, and all I can think about is how great it would be to have one.

One of the things they're saying that scares me is how much my homeowners insurance will go up.  I'm going to ask my agent, of course, but is it really that bad?  What other things do I need to worry about?  I hear my electricity costs will go up an average of $60 (averaged out over the year).  It's only going to be 30' by 12' due to utility easement limitations in my yard.

Thanks
