Mark and Kevin both have some good points, and I'd like to add one.

The work we do isn't carefully scripted out, with the models' every step choreographed and practiced again and again, like a Hollywood movie. We often have no idea exactly how the scene will turn out, since much of it is ad-libbed and we have to follow the model around, never knowing what her next step may be.

Also, if we told our models, "Just get in the water and DON'T MOVE -- otherwise the lighting won't be perfect," that would not make for very interesting wetlook. That may work fine for photographers taking stills, but not for video. I'm not a professional photographer, but I do know that it's impossible to get a perfect shot at every angle...that would require a light source everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

Most of the fun of wetlook comes from not knowing what will happen next, and this fun is completely defeated by any attempts to control it.

Jim

Whatever is used they neel a hell of a lot more light and polarized filters.

The arguement I have with some of these productions is that the forget to shoot on the LIGHTED side of the model. So many beauitful shots are ruined because of shadow or insufficient lighting.

Next is GLARE. When you shoot wet things with enough light to properly expose them you get glare. A polarizer cuts the glare and shows texture and color.

OK, OK! Off the soap box.

Just curious to know what type camcorders & cameras are used. From what I've seen of most producers videos the quality's great! Thanks!
