I think that the future of wetlook sites rests squarely with you...the consumer and "the power of the people". That is, it's you wetlook fans who can shape the future, cos wetlook producers are going to do whatever the wetlook fans want to see. If most wet fans prefer membership sites and support those sites, then those sites with thrive. If folks prefer other methods of media delivery such as tape or DVDs then those will thrive too. If certain styles or methods are not supported well, then producers are either going to have to change their ways or go out of business.

Basically....you folks determine what the future of wetlook sites will be...cos those things that most of you want...will be the things that most producers will cater to and therefore those things will flourish. Those things that are not well liked or not well supported....those things will wither and die.

The economics you mention are that age old rule of "supply and demand"...i.e. what the most consumers want...is what you will get.

It would seem that most commercial wetlook sites that come along are now are membership oriented as opposed to open to all for the purpose of selling videos. I presume that the membership sites don't sell videos or they would be doing themselves a disservice by restricting their market. Are the economics drastically different?
