The US ones seem to be as you describe. I don't go for the instant peel-off sequences either.
But some of the ones from Germany seem to be real fun. The girls are completely soaked in shirts and jeans, and sometimes wear bras, which they may or may not take off in later stages. The Nachtsricht (sp?) series used to be particularly good in this aspect.
